Iranian director of acclaimed short 'The Fan' reveals to ifilm grabbing details on her animation.

Iranian director of acclaimed short 'The Fan' says in an exclusive talk with ifilm that she made the animation as her Master's thesis. 

Director Fatemeh (aka Shirin) Sohani also said the animation was made back in 2014 and participated in many national as well as some international fests.

According to what she told to ifilm, 'The Fan' runs for 7 mins as her directorial debut and the main targets of the toon were children and adolescents. 

"The story of the animation is about a fan I animated as if it were a living creature. The fan is old and the owner wants to get rid of it. However, the fan is afraid of being recycled as it thinks this will lead to death," the director said exclusively of the storyline.

She added," We will see the rest of the story later on."

‘The Fan’ has won Best Environmental Animation award at 11th International Student Animation Festival Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2014.

The director also highlights the importance of short films, saying that such productions can take the taste of movies-goers to the next level. She suggested showing some short flicks during intermissions of the screening at cinema halls
